From Abuja to Japan: Jessica Austin's IgniteHer journey

Earlier this year, our co-founder and COO, Jessica Austin, travelled to Japan as part of the iGniteHer program, an initiative created by NITDA (Nigeria's National Information Technology Development Agency) with support from JICA (the Japan International Cooperation Agency).
What iGniteHer is
iGniteHer supports women founders in Nigerian tech, connecting them with international ecosystems, investors, and operators. The Japan immersion brought together selected founders for training, mentorship, and exposure to one of the world's most advanced technology markets.
What we brought home
Jessica came home with a sharper view of how education technology scales in mature markets, plus:
- Relationships with operators and mentors who continue to advise us.
- Conviction that Nigerian EdTech can compete globally, starting with getting assessment right at home.
We're grateful to NITDA and JICA for supporting Nigerian women in tech. Representation at that level changes what founders believe is possible.
